The pre-requisite for training is that you hold a diploma in Anatomy and Physiology and Massage, or that you already practise a relevant therapy (to include massage). The course includes CPD training in Remedial Massage & Trigger Point Therapy for which you will receive a separate post-graduate certificate from the AAPA.
Course Syllabus includes : · How it works. Understanding Pain emotionally and physically. · Studying all the Points - relationship to nerves, muscle origin and insertions and meridians. · Neck pathology (whiplash injury, spondylosis etc.) Spinal cord injuries. · Client history sheet - discuss case studies. Study knee, ankle and foot pathology. Study total replacement (prosthesis) of knee and hip. · Discuss possible causes for knee, ankle, hip problems and look at the muscles involved. · Remedial/sports injury massage (separate attendance certificate awarded). Week-end will look at how to release certain muscles using origin and insertion points of muscles. Revision on both superficial and deep muscles of the body. · Postural analysis, Shoe wear diagnosis. · X-rays, Cat scans and MRI’s. Other medical diagnosis · Brain injuries, Strokes (CVA), Motor Neurone Disease, MS, Migraines & Headaches. Other neurological disorders · Inversion Therapy. Arthritis management. Working with animals. Pregnancy & Children

At the end of the nine month course (one week-end per month) the student will present their portfolios for external assessment, carry out a practical assessment, produce a thesis of at least 5000 words on a chosen topic, and 35 hours of case studies.
